One map. Five discoveries.
Preparing your first question…
Pick a country on the map or search by name. Your answer only locks when you confirm.
Progress stays in this browser. No account needed.
Simplified world map · search is easier for small countries.
Borders are illustrative; the map does not express a political position.

How to play Farflung: countries, clues and distance
Farflung is a daily geography game built around five prompts and a world map. A prompt can have several correct countries. Choose one that fits; a less obvious correct answer can take your expedition farther. That makes it different from a spelling puzzle and different from a game where you locate just one hidden country.
- Read the prompt before exploring. Look for the condition the country must satisfy. A familiar country is useful only if it answers that particular prompt.
- Choose a country, then confirm. Use the map and the original game’s available controls. Check the country name before locking your answer; tiny neighboring countries can be easy to confuse.
- Read the feedback and continue. Correctness comes first. Rarity affects the official game’s distance, so the same country need not be the best answer to every question.
- Finish the five-question expedition. The official Daily changes at local midnight and can be resumed in the same browser. Its Practice mode offers a single question without changing Daily progress.
The official game is untimed by default. Difficulty settings can hide country names or borders, or enable a 60-second timer. The same country can be used again when it fits another prompt. These details were checked against the publisher’s current instructions on ; cached search snippets and other editions may describe different rules.
Official Farflung or Clueffy practice?
Use the official game when you want the shared Farflung Daily and its distance score. Use the map above when you want another low-pressure geography round without leaving this page. We keep the two clearly separate.
| Feature | Official Farflung | Clueffy geography practice |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | Five publisher-set prompts; refreshes at local midnight | Five questions selected from our original bank by your local date |
| Extra practice | A single-question Practice mode | Replayable five-question Practice rounds |
| Score | Distance influenced by answer rarity | Correct answers out of five; no invented rarity statistics |
| Time pressure | Untimed by default; optional difficulty settings | Untimed, with map and country search available |
| Progress | Handled by the publisher’s site | Saved locally in this browser when storage is available |
Our Daily is a small rotating practice bank, not a promise of a brand-new authored puzzle every day. Practice can repeat questions across rounds. We do not provide the official daily answers, sync official scores or operate an official leaderboard.
A better first round: four useful map habits
Spot the region.
Identify whether the clue asks for a continent, a subregion or another property. Our regional questions use the UN M49 classification so that “Northern Europe” has a stated meaning.
Start with one sure answer.
Several countries may qualify. Pick one you can explain before hunting for a less familiar option. In the official game, an invalid obscure answer does not become useful just because it is obscure.
Search small countries.
On a phone, country search is more reliable than tapping a tiny island. Choose a search result and read the selected country name before confirming. Search is an input aid, not an answer hint.
Use the explanation.
After each practice answer, read the stated classification and a few valid examples. You can build geographical knowledge without a timer or a penalty for taking a break.
Farflung, Worldle, Globle: what changes?
If you enjoy country games, the important choice is the kind of question you want to solve. Worldle starts from a country or territory silhouette and gives distance and direction feedback. Globle uses a globe and warmer-or-colder geography feedback to help you find a mystery country. Farflung instead asks for countries that satisfy prompts and rewards less obvious correct choices.

Before your next expedition
Is Farflung a daily word game?
It is a daily geography game: answer prompts by choosing countries on a world map. You are not guessing a five-letter word. The practice above uses the same broad country-selection idea with our own questions and scoring.
Why is the original game not embedded here?
The publisher’s website blocks third-party iframe embedding. The official link opens its own site. We use an independent local practice rather than a broken game window or a proxy around that restriction.
Does Practice change my Daily result?
Not here. Daily and Practice have separate progress. Switching modes keeps the current round. A fresh Practice round replaces only your current Practice attempt; it does not erase Daily.
Why can’t I find a small country on the map?
Our lightweight map simplifies coastlines and omits some tiny shapes. Search the country name, select the result and confirm it. The answer list supports the countries used in our original questions, including some too small to draw clearly at this scale.
Can I continue on another device?
Our practice saves in browser storage on this device. It has no account or cross-device sync. Private browsing, clearing site data or unavailable storage can remove that progress; you can still play while the page stays open.
Where are today’s official Farflung answers?
They are not copied here. Open the official game for the publisher’s Daily and its own feedback. This page provides rules and a separate practice challenge rather than an official answer archive.
Sources, map and independence

Our original regional practice questions use UN M49 geographical regions. The simplified map uses public-domain Natural Earth data; read the map source notes.
